According to a biography from the restaurant, Chinn was born March 2, 1923 as the third of seven children in Duluth, Minnesota. His parents, Wai and Yung Shee Ong Chinn, were immigrants from Toishan, China. Milwaukee Ave. in Wheeling, announced Chinn's death on Facebook on Friday evening. So he decided to branch out on his own with Bob Chinn’s Crab House. To ensure that things don’t go downhill at the restaurant Chinn, now 89, has decided he can’t retire (though he does spend six months out of each year in Hawaii).
